Engine run-up

here is a little photo journal of an engine which two of my classmates and I have rebuilt. It's taken almost a month to do it, but it has run three times now and runs great. Hopefully I'll be able to upload a little video of it later.

our group (L-R) Peter Madden, Jonathan Walters & Kars Kroneman.

The Engine RUNS!!

Jonathan Walters is "Fireguard"

Peter, Kars, John and Raymond (instructor) check the instrument readings.

Jonathan Walters (MK from Niger) trying to adjust a ignition lead in the cold.

How do you connect a Car Battery to an Airplane Engine?!?!? Jumper cables of course!

Just in case you were wondering. The temperature @ Felts field was about 25F. With prop wash etc it felt a lot colder. Making minor adjustment to the engine outside was not pleasant. But hopefully with the field we are going in, we won't have to deal with the cold all that much in the future.
