Our "little" guy is not so little anymore...he is over 20 lbs and 27 inches tall. He is crawling everywhere, pulling up on whatever he can get his hands on, riding his car around (and even getting off when he pulls up next to something he can grab onto), laughing, chatting, whispering to himself, singing to his mama, and putting absolutely everything into his mouth (which has 8 teeth already!). He is a very busy little man. We love having him in our family and wouldn't trade being parents for anything, even the "freedoms" we lost once he joined our family.
On the more difficult side of things, Benji has suffered from acid reflux and digestion problems since the time he was born. We have come through some very rough days and nights. God blessed us with the opportunity to take him to see a Pediatric GI specialist, who helped diagnose his problems and gave us some things to try and help get through the toughest parts. There really is nothing you can do to make the problems go away, but typically infants who have them will outgrow them sometime between 8 and 12 months. We are almost to the 8 month mark, but unfortunately in the last couple months Benji has gotten worse and we have had to put him back on medicines we were able to take him off of before. Please pray with us that God would heal Benji's body and cause these issues to be no longer be a problem. The biggest area we see it affect him (and us) is sleep--he is often not comfortable while sleeping (even though he sleeps with his head elevated to help ease the reflux) and wakes up multiple times at night. It's hard for all of us to not get the sleep we need! The last several nights he has woke up almost every hour of the night....tough stuff.
