206 Engine Change

One of the projects I had a chance to involved with was an engine change. One airplane that was flying was consuming a lot of oil and needed it's engine changed. The pilot was based outside Nairobi and came in for a few days, he wanted to get home to his family as soon as possible. We took an engine from another 206 that was being completely redone and put it on this one. This airplane is the one owned by SIL (mentioned in previous post) and is used in Northern Kenya primarily for medical clinics.

(Hoisting the old engine out of the 5Y-SIL)

(Mze Stephen Ketuo, AIM AIR engine man, changing parts on the engine)

(No engine, your only chance for a good cleaning in there)

(working together with the Kenyan guys was my highlight)
